Branding & identity

A brand that works on a truck door and a phone screen.

Logo design, visual identity and naming for Grande Prairie and Peace Region businesses — designed for where it will actually be used.

What a brand has to survive here

Practical constraints most logo design ignores.

A logo that only works large, in colour, on white, is not finished.

Vehicle graphics

It has to read at speed, from a distance, on a coloured vehicle. This single constraint kills most fine detail.

Embroidery and workwear

Thread cannot do gradients or hairlines. If the identity cannot be stitched, half your uses are compromised.

Signage and weather

Outdoor, backlit, at night, in winter. Contrast matters more than subtlety.

Phone screens

Small, often dark mode. Anything relying on fine detail disappears.

Single colour

Invoices, stamps, faxes, etched metal. A one-colour version is not optional.

Documents and quotes

The most-seen application for many businesses and the one nobody designs for.

What you get

Files you can actually use.

A brand handover should not leave you emailing the designer every time you need a file.

Vector master files

Scalable to any size — a sign shop needs these, and a JPEG will not do.

Every practical variant

Horizontal, stacked, icon-only, single colour, reversed, and versions for dark backgrounds.

Colour specifications

Print and screen values, so your signage matches your website.

Simple guidelines

Enough that anyone producing something for you gets it right. Not a sixty-page document nobody opens.

Naming and domains

Worth thinking about before you commit.

We do a lot of domain work, and the mistakes are consistent.

Say it out loud

If it needs spelling every time on the phone, it will cost you for years.

Check the domain first

Deciding on a name before checking availability is how businesses end up with awkward compromises.

Think about search

A name that is a common phrase is harder to rank for than a distinctive one.

Do not paint yourself in

Names tied to one service or one town become a problem when you expand.

Common questions

Questions we get asked.

Straight answers, no sales pitch.

Can you refresh our existing logo instead?

Often the better option. If people recognise it, keeping the equity and modernising the execution usually beats starting over.

Do we own the artwork?

Yes, outright, including source files. You should never be renting your own identity.

How many concepts do we see?

A small number of genuinely different directions, not thirty variations of one idea. Volume is not the useful measure.

Can you do vehicle wraps and signage?

We provide the artwork and specifications your sign or wrap shop needs, and we work with them directly if that helps.

Should branding come before the website?

Ideally yes — the site is built from the identity. But we regularly do both together, which works fine.

Do you help with business naming?

Yes, including domain availability and strategy. We do a considerable amount of domain work.
